Naples Celebrates Hanukkah

This year Hanukkah began on December 21st with the fifth annual festival at Venetian Village. An 18-foot dreidel and a balloon-constructed menorah were highlights of the celebration, along with Israeli and Jewish music.

On December 22nd the Downtown Naples Association and the Jewish Federation of Collier County sponsored the annual Community Hanukkah Celebration at the Sugden Theatre Plaza on Fifth Avenue. A menorah was lit and traditional songs were performed by choirs from local temples.

Other festivities included a Hanukkah dinner at Vanderbilt Country Club, organized by the Naples Jewish Congregation.  On December 24th I attended a Christmas/Hanukkah party at a friend's home where Jewish and Christian friends celebrated their traditions together.

On the eighth and final night of Hanukkah, December 28th, the Chabad Center of Naples has planned a great evening of family fun at King Richards Family Fun Park on Airport-Pulling Road.  All ages will enjoy the menorah lighting, kosher food, and park activities.
