Bird Watching in Naples Florida

Southwest Florida is a bird watcher's paradise.  The nature preserves, swamps, mangroves, grasslands and abundance of water offer the ideal habitat for a vast diversity of wildlife.  Over the weekend nature lovers took advantage of a variety of educational activities planned for the Southwest Florida Birding and Wildlife Festival.

Although the main venue was the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, events incorporated field trips to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Big Cypress National Preserve and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park.  Activities included presentations by biologists, ecologists and wildlife experts, as well as birding walks, kayak trips and much more.

For a truly fascinating nature and wildlife experience, I highly recommend that you check out the wonderful programs offered at Rookery Bay, located on US 951 between Naples and Marco Island.
