The Mullet Festival at Goodland on Marco Island

Any native Neapolitan will break into a smile if you ask him about Stan's on Marco Island.  If you would like a unique Old Florida experience on the wild side, I suggest that you join some friends for a drive down to tiny Goodland on a Sunday afternoon.  Fair warning: Be prepared for an extremely eclectic group of people who are there to party -  from bikers in their Harley gear to women wearing large diamonds who disembark from yachts.  The fare at Stan's Idle Hour Restaurant is generally seafood and hamburgers, while beer and mixed drinks flow steadily.  The service is quite good, considering the large crowds.  Music blares from live bands on stage and the real show is watching the dancers and the infamous Buzzard Queen!  Stan, of course, is always on hand to recite a patriotic poem or join in a song.

This weekend Stan's will be celebrating its 25th annual Mullet Festival on Saturday and Sunday.  If you would like to have an experience off the beaten path, make it a point to visit Stan's!
