Naples International Festival
I was surprised to discover a world of its own in Naples' international community. This afternoon I went to the Florida Sports Park in East Naples where the Naples International Festival is being held this weekend. Children from a variety of school and community groups performed dances from across the globe.
The Kellyn Celtic Arts Troupe danced a lively Irish jig and later engaged the audience in joining them. Afterwards an animated group of Haitian children brought the audience to its feet with its Caribbean beat. The smallest child had amazing rhythm!
Ethnic aromas enticed me to taste Mexican tostadas, Greek gyros, and French tarts. I never dreamed that Naples includes such diversity...Over two dozen nationalities were represented!
