Cabaret at The Phil in Naples Florida
Last night I enjoyed a wonderful cabaret performance by Andrea Marcovicci at the Pavilion adjacent to the Philharmonic. As she remarked, only in Naples could there be a packed audience at both the Philharmonic and the Cabaret on the same night!
Marcovicci composed a show that has very personal meaning for her, as she revealed in the dialog that accompanied her songs. The program she staged was a nostalgic one she created in memory of her parents who met in Europe during World War II. Her mother, also a singer, used to sing to her the songs of the era which forever became part of her repertoire. They are the inspiration for her show, I'll Be Seeing You...Love Songs of World War II.
I always find that Naples offers such a variety of entertainment. We are very fortunate to have so many options at our fingertips!
