Is "Season" Over in Naples Florida?
Although the traditional "season" comes to a close at the end of April when the snowbirds head to their summer home, this year serious buyers are returning to the area. To give a personal example, I worked all last week with a couple from Indianapolis. When they narrowed their search to their ideal choice, another offer came in ahead of theirs! I was told a similar story by another realtor in my office today who commented that the nicest properties that are priced right are quickly going under contract. My broker remarked that in some price ranges we are now seeing backup offers like we did in '04 and '05!
While working in my office today on 5th Avenue the phone rang off the hook the entire afternoon with agents calling to schedule showing appointments for tomorrow, Saturday. This is a strong indication to me that Naples has reached the bottom of the economic downturn (at least in some price ranges.) If you are considering purchasing a second home in Southwest Florida, now is the time.
